Otley Show 2026
The first Wensleydale show of the 2026 season was judged by Mrs Sue Wilson on Saturday 16th May. Congratulations to Harrison Spinks on winning Breed Champion with their yearling ram in wool and Reserve with their ewe hogg in wool
Suffolk Show 2026
Wednesday 27th May saw the Wensleydale Breed classes held at Suffolk Show. Judged by Dr Lynn Clouder, she found her Champion and Reserve in Duncan Parker & Diana Bird’s tup and ewe hoggs in wool respectively. The Champion went on to win Reserve Interbreed Champion the next day amongst other interbreed successes
North Yorkshire
Show 2026
North Yorkshire show ran on the 21st June, judged by Mr David Ford. Harrison Spinks won Breed Champion with their ewe hogg, with Oliver Duffield & Faye Protheroe taking Reserve Champion with their ram lamb. Harrison Spinks went on to win Reserve Interbreed Champion
Royal Norfolk
Show 2026
The Royal Norfolk Show took place on the 24th and 25th June, judged by Mrs Davina Stanhope. Duncan Parker & Diana Bird won Breed Champion with their tup hogg, taking the Reserve Champion spot with their ewe hogg in wool and going on to win the Interbreed Pairs
Great Yorkshire
Show 2026
The Great Yorkshire Show was held on Tuesday the 14th – Friday the 17th of July this year, with a good turnout of Wensleydales. It was judged by Mrs Sue Holdich, who found her breed Champion in Julie & Anna Pennell’s ewe hogg in wool
Ryedale Show 2026
Always the last Tuesday in July, the sun shone yet again for Ryedale show at Duncombe Park. Judge Mr David Ford found his Champion in the ewe hogg in wool from Harrison Spinks who also went onto take Best Woolled Sheep and Reserve Interbreed Champion
Ripley Show 2026
This year Ripley show was held on Sunday the 9th August. Judged by Mr Martin Croft, his Champion was found in Harrison Spinks’ ram lamb with Mark Elliott’s ewe in Reserve. Harrison spinks went on to take Reserve Champion in the Interbreed
Wensleydale Show 2025
Saturday the 23rd August saw the Wensleydale Show with a good turnout of exhibitors. Judge Mrs Davina Stanhope found both her Champion and Reserve in Ernie Sherwin’s stock, a shearling ram and aged ewe respectively
Nidderdale Show 2025
Despite a damp start at the Nidderdale Agricultural Show held on Sunday 21st September at Bewerley Park, Judge Ms Jessica Talbot found her Champion in Ernie Sherwin’s homebred shearling ram and Reserve in his two shear ewe
Masham Sheep Fair 2025
The final show of Wensleydales classes was held on Saturday 27th September at the lovely show that is Masham Sheep Fair. The classes were judged by Mr Roger Field and his Champion was found in Mark Elliott’s aged ram, with Reserve going to Oliver Duffield & Faye Protheroe’s ram lamb
Other Breed Classes 2026
Wensleydales are not solely shown in dedicated breed classes – many breeders show their Wensleydales in Rare Breed, Native Breed, Any Other Longwool and various other classes throughout the country. Below are results from those classes, some of which host the Wensleydale Longwool Sheep Breeders’ Association Rosette for the highest placed Wensleydale within the appropriate section
